简介
去纽约淘金的艾普盖特（金格尔·罗杰斯饰）在经历了几份短期工作后，彻底厌倦了这座城市。在她眼里，男人不过是一群轻浮的无赖。但当她买火车票回家乡时，却发现自己买不起全票。无奈之下，她装扮成小女孩，拿着半票上了火车。
为了躲避列车员的检票，艾普盖特躲在卧铺车厢里，遇到了布莱恩特少校（雷·米兰德饰）。年轻的少校把她当成孩子，温柔纯真地对待她。可惜她被未婚夫帕梅拉误会了，他只好暂时和少校一起留在军校以解除误会。在此期间，十几岁的军校学员们对“女孩”艾普盖特开了一系列玩笑，少校和艾普盖特的友谊也逐渐升温。离别的时刻到了，两人又会如何对待这段感情呢？
